Product Description

Seventies Flying V Attitude With Modern Player Refinement

The Gibson ’70s Flying V in Antique Natural looks like it just stepped off a seventies arena stage, but it feels and responds like a dialed in modern workhorse. Mahogany, nitro, and a pair of 70s Tribute humbuckers give you that thick, cutting voice that made the original famous.

Photos are of the actual guitar, so what you see is exactly what shows up at your door. Our techs have already been through it, and it is ready to light up a rehearsal room, studio, or stage the second you plug in.

Mahogany Flying V Body With Nitro Shine

The classic Flying V body carved from solid mahogany gives you rich midrange, tight lows, and sustain that seems to hang in the air. At around 7.1 lbs it stays comfortable through long sets while still feeling solid and substantial.

The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Antique Natural lets the wood resonate instead of sealing it under a thick plastic coat. Under lights it has that unmistakable vintage Gibson glow, and the angular V silhouette makes it look every bit as mean as it sounds.

SlimTaper Neck And Bound Rosewood Fingerboard

The mahogany SlimTaper neck hits that sweet spot between fast and familiar. It fills your hand just enough for control, but it stays sleek and quick for runs, bends, and big stretches up the neck.

A bound rosewood fingerboard with a 12 inch radius and medium jumbo frets keeps things smooth and stable under your fingers. Chords feel easy and relaxed, bends stay glassy and in tune, and the acrylic dot inlays keep your bearings without getting in the way of the look.

70s Tribute Humbuckers With Hand Wired Orange Drops

The uncovered 70s Tribute humbuckers are all about classic rock heat with clarity to spare. The bridge has the bite and grind you need for riffs that cut, while the neck fattens up for singing leads and warm, vocal cleans.

Hand wired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors keep the top end sweet and usable across the whole range of the knobs. Two volume controls, a single tone, and a three way toggle give you quick access to everything from crisp rhythm to thick, saturated leads without losing definition.

Rock Solid Hardware, Ready To Hit The Stage

An aluminum Nashville Tune O Matic bridge and aluminum stop bar tailpiece lock in feel, attack, and tuning stability. Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons keep tuning solid song after song, and the white 3 ply pickguard, black top hat knobs with silver reflectors, and chrome hardware complete the unmistakable 70s vibe.

It ships in a hardshell case and includes a Gibson accessory kit, so you are covered from the first rehearsal to the last encore. Strap buttons are ready for your favorite strap, and the whole instrument feels like it wants to live on a loud stage.

The Lowdown

The Lowdown

We get it. Buying a guitar you haven’t played is a big decision. You need to know it’s going to feel right, sound right, and inspire you the second you open the case. We put together the questions we’d be asking if we were in your shoes—the real-world stuff that specs alone can’t answer. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just give us a call.

They are voiced for classic seventies rock tones with plenty of muscle. The bridge pickup gives you tight, focused crunch that cuts through a loud band, while the neck fattens up for smooth leads and warm cleans. Because they are uncovered, you get a bit more bite and articulation than a covered set, which helps every note speak clearly.
Absolutely. The mahogany body, SlimTaper neck, and 70s Tribute humbuckers are tailor made for classic rock, hard rock, and old school metal. It handles high gain amps and pedals really well, staying punchy and defined instead of turning to mush. If your set leans heavy, this V feels right at home.
You get the guitar itself, a fitted hardshell case, and a Gibson accessory kit. It ships strung with a .010–.046 set, so it is ready to play as soon as you open the case. And remember, the photos on the product page are of this exact instrument.
At about 7.1 lbs, this Flying V sits in a great spot for stage use. It feels substantial and resonant but not like a boat anchor on your shoulder. Once you get it on a strap, it balances well and just feels like it wants to stay in the sweet spot while you move around.
Of course. Every guitar gets our full Player-Perfect™ setup, but tell us your preferred string gauge and action at checkout, and we’ll dial it in exactly to your spec before it leaves the shop.
This guitar is covered by our 72-Hour Love-It Guarantee. If you’re not completely inspired by it, just let us know. We’ll make it right.
If you order before 3 PM CST on a weekday, it ships the same day. We’ll get it into your hands fast with free, insured 2-3 day shipping.
Call us at (888) 794-8482. You’ll talk to a real musician who can answer anything you need to know.
