In 1885 Marshall changed the black dye used for the grill covers. Over time that dye faded to brown, as you can see. 1985 was the only year this dye was used that made this fading occur.
This amp has been recently serviced by our amp tech and described as “The cleanest 40-year old amp I’ve ever seen”.
Groove Tubes have lots of life, caps are good, and health a clean bill of health!
