Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody

With brilliant acoustics and a vast array of tones, the Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody II has been a constant favorite in the PRS lineup of semi-hollow instruments. The combination of the maple top and back with mahogany sides provides tonal clarity and extraordinary resonance.

The Hollowbody II Piezo includes the PRS/LR Baggs Piezo System, providing musicians with the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric guitar tones in one instrument. There are two output jacks on the PRS Hollowbody II Piezo, allowing guitarists to plug into their favorite electric guitar or acoustic guitar amp or DI into a soundboard.

Besides the usual master volume and tone controls, the PRS Hollowbody II Piezo has a second rotary knob, an added 3-way mini-toggle and an extra jack output. The latter allows the guitar to be played into 2 different amps, or 2 channels of the same amp. When using both outputs, the third knob is a volume control for the piezo pickup. When used in the single output mode with magnetic and piezo pickups selected, the third control adjusts the balance between the regular magnetic pickups and the piezo. (The 3 way mini-toggle allows you to select magnetic, piezo or both).

In 2019, the McCarty 594 Hollowbody II was introduced, delivering the PRS hollow body tone with dual volume/tone controls and the famous McCarty switching.
Paul Reed Smith Hollowbodies offer classic hollow body resonance with the clarity and articulation you expect from a core PRS.
