Outfitted with a solid Torrefied spruce top, layered sapele mahogany back and sides, and a comfortable neck profile, the 150ce offers big, bold sound for players of all styles and skill levels - and coupled with 12 strings, the sound will blow you away! The torrefication process has been finely tuned at Taylor Guitars to provide a more "played in tone" right out of the factory. This process slightly "bakes" the solid spruce top that "redefines" the cell structure of the wood providing better stability and allows the top to vibrate more freely while maintaining and building additional strength to the top. This classic Dreadnought acoustic-electric delivers a rich sonic punch with enough projection for both practice and performance situations.
The old joke about 12 string guitars - you know the one - "I spend half of my time tuning them, and the other half playing out of tune" isn't a factor when you are talking about Taylor 12 string guitars. Due to years of careful and meticulous design of the Taylor neck joint, the additional "stress" of 12 strings has been eliminated. These guitars truly play like a 6 string, and they play wonderfully in tune all the way up the neck! You will be able to create 12-string chord "voicings" that you've never thought possible on a 12 string guitar.
