As every "Taylor afficionado" knows, the most popular guitar that Taylor Guitars has sold for years, is the Taylor 314ce - it's the quintessential Taylor guitar. This guitar, is essentially it's big brother - it's the exact same tonewood, and exact same appointments, but in a soft shouldered dreadnought size! The tones that come out of this guitar are as classic as one can get for a fraction of the price you would normally pay.
This is basically Taylor Guitars version of the classic "Dreadnought" size guitar with ever so slight modifications. It features a new round-shoulder dreadnought body that is voiced with Taylor’s award-winning V-Class bracing which ushers in a tone and sound not normally associated with a Taylor guitar! What you will really appreciate with the tonewood combined with this body shape is a tone that "sounds like the record" of your favorite acoustic players! Warmth, clarity, and punch that you wouldn't normally with the Grand Auditorium shape model - it is it's own "animal"! You will absolutely love the way this guitar cuts through a mix - especially if you are playing along with other acoustic guitarists - you WILL be heard!
Notes blend smoothly together to produce a warm and seasoned acoustic voice with clear low-end power. Using solid sapele back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top, the guitar’s tonal response sits comfortably between the dry, focused character of mahogany and the harmonically complex sound of rosewood. The body’s wider waist helps produce a strong bass response, but without the "woofiness" that can sometimes plague bigger-body guitars. That low-end clarity blends evenly with the guitar’s mids and highs, yielding a rich, dynamic tone with notes that overlap into a seamless whole.
Taylor Guitars V-Class bracing has been specifically tailored for the Grand Pacific body - dialing up power and sustain, along with improved intonation, making this a versatile tool for jamming with other musicians, playing alongside a vocalist, or embarking on solo adventures. This edition comes equipped with our onboard ES2 electronics, and thanks to the clarity of the low-end frequencies, the guitar will be less inclined to feed back in amplified settings, making it a reliable partner for plugged-in applications.
